Rajasthan Leads Kharif Mung Procurement with 83% Share
New Delhi: As of February 17, 2025, the total Kharif 2024 mung procurement has reached 1,76,474 metric tons. Among the states, Rajasthan has emerged as the top contributor, accounting for 1,45,887.35 metric tons (83%), while Karnataka follows in second place with 26,725.15 metric tons (15%).
State-wise Mung Procurement Data:
Rajasthan: 1,45,887.35 metric tons (83%)
Karnataka: 26,725.15 metric tons (15%)
Haryana: 2,664.15 metric tons (1%)
Telangana: 990.44 metric tons (0.1%)
Gujarat: 144.45 metric tons (0.08%)
Maharashtra: 63.25 metric tons (0.03%)
Rajasthan and Karnataka together contribute to over 98% of the total procurement, while other states have recorded significantly lower figures. According to agricultural experts, Rajasthan's dominance is due to large-scale mung production and strong government procurement support.
