According to the latest NOPA data, 221.56 million bushels of soybeans were crushed in January, exceeding market expectations. This was 10.57% higher than last year, though 1.52% lower than the previous month. Soybean oil stocks rose 15.6% from last month and were up 49.07% compared to last year.
For the week ending February 12, soybean export shipments totaled 1.203 MMT (44.2 million bushels), up 5.01% from the prior week and 65.3% above the same week last year. China was the leading destination with 684,069 MT, followed by Egypt at 223,890 MT and Colombia at 81,455 MT.
Marketing year shipments have now reached 24.35 MMT (894.7 million bushels), up 32.4% year over year. AgRural estimates that Brazil’s soybean harvest is 21% complete, compared to 24% at the same time last year.
