September Oilmeal Exports Up by 40%
★ According to data compiled by the Solvent Extractors’ Association of India (SEA), India’s oilmeal exports in September 2025 stood at 299,252 tons, compared to 213,744 tons in September 2024 — up by 40%.
★ During April–September 2025, total exports were reported at 2,093,067 tons, compared to 2,082,533 tons in the same period last year — a marginal increase of only 0.50%, indicating stagnant growth.

Ban Lifted on De-oiled Rice Bran (DORB) Exports to Boost Trade
★ The Government of India lifted the ban on the export of De-oiled Rice Bran (DORB) with effect from October 3, 2025, through Notification No. 37/2025-26 dated October 3, 2025.
★ This move is expected to greatly benefit the rice milling and solvent extraction industries, as by-products of rice bran oil extraction can now be exported. It will help processors and farmers secure better returns and encourage higher rice bran processing and rice bran oil production.

Groundnut Meal Exports Rise Sharply
★ Higher groundnut production over the last two years has led to a surge in crushing and exports of groundnut meal.
★ During April–September 2025, exports of groundnut meal were reported at 15,967 tons, compared to 5,090 tons during the same period last year.
★ According to SEA’s Kharif Groundnut Crop Survey in Gujarat, the area under groundnut cultivation rose by 3 lakh hectares to 22.02 lakh ha, up from 19.09 lakh ha last year. Production is estimated at 46.07 lakh tons.
★ However, all-India groundnut sowing declined slightly to 48.36 lakh ha from 49.96 lakh ha last year, down by 1.60 lakh ha.

Decline in Soybean Meal Exports
★ Exports of soybean meal during April–September 2025 fell to 839,000 tons from 908,000 tons in the same period last year.
★ This decline was mainly due to weak international demand and price pressure. Indian soybean meal is facing tough competition from South and North American exporters. Domestically, increasing availability of DDGS (Distillers Dried Grains with Solubles) in the feed market has also reduced the demand for soybean meal.

Strong Growth in Rapeseed Meal Exports
★ Rapeseed meal exports showed good growth during the first half of 2025–26. Exports reached 1.107 million tons compared to 1.015 million tons in the same period last year. In September 2025 alone, exports stood at 192,000 tons.

China Emerges as Major Buyer
★ China has emerged as a key buyer of Indian rapeseed meal, importing 488,000 tons during the first six months and 119,000 tons in September 2025 alone.
