Very heavy rainfall expected in many parts of Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh

Thiruvananthapuram. The water vapor map shows that very dense clouds were over East Gujarat, Saurashtra and Kutch, West Madhya Pradesh, coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh and Northeast India, due to which there was a possibility of very heavy rains in these areas.
According to the Meteorological Department, today i.e. on 3 September 2024, heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected in North Gujarat, Gandhinagar and South Gujarat.
A slow-moving depression has weakened but a fully organized low pressure area is still active over the Vidarbha region. As a result, there is a possibility of continuing rain there for a long time.
Asana Cyclone has passed, but as its remnant, a low pressure area exists over a distant area in the Arabian Sea. There are also indications of a low pressure area forming in the Bay of Bengal.
In this way, the flow of rain-laden clouds from both the seas can merge with each other on the Andhra Pradesh coast. The land based system will remain active for one more day and then it will weaken.
By the evening of 2nd September, very heavy rains were recorded in many areas of Gujarat and heavy rains in eastern Rajasthan.
The forecast made by the Meteorological Department for 3rd September is proving to be true. According to the Meteorological Department, rains are expected in Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh as well as Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Uttarakhand, Western Uttar Pradesh,
Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Rajasthan, Vidarbha, Eastern Madhya Pradesh, Northeast India, Central Maharashtra, Kerala, Mahi and Coastal Karnataka.
Heavy damage to Kharif crops has been reported in states like Andhra Pradesh and Telangana due to torrential rains for the last two-three days.
