Weather is favorable for wheat sowing
The weather conditions are indeed favorable for wheat sowing in North India. As temperatures drop in key states like Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh, it provides an ideal environment for wheat cultivation. The cooler temperatures help in better seed germination and crop establishment.
However, the delay in Kharif crop harvesting, due to the late monsoon this year, has caused a lag in wheat sowing compared to last year. As the Kharif crop is now nearing completion, wheat sowing is expected to pick up pace, especially with the onset of fog in many areas, which further signals the approaching winter.
Overall, despite the delay, the favorable weather conditions—cooler temperatures and increasing fog—should encourage farmers to intensify wheat sowing activities in the coming weeks.
