Limited Trading in the Chickpea Market, Prices Continue to Fluctuate

New Delhi. Chickpea prices witnessed a mixed trend, rising and falling, during the current week. According to market sources, both buying and selling remained within a limited range, resulting in a lack of stability in prices. Sellers' interest declined at lower prices, while buyer support remained weak at higher prices. Consequently, prices in the Chickpea market fluctuated between up and down. Limited buying by dal millers led to a decline in Delhi Chickpea prices by Rs. 25 per quintal this week, with prices ending the week at Rs. 5875/5900 in Madhya Pradesh and Rs. 5925/5950 in Rajasthan.
Port
Imported Chickpea prices fluctuated by Rs. 25/50 per quintal this week due to sluggish demand. And with this increase and decrease, the prices remained at Mumbai Tanzania Rs 5550, Navasheva Australia Rs 5700/5725 and Mundra Rs 5625 per quintal.
Rajasthan
Due to sluggish buying and selling, Rajasthan gram prices registered a rise and fall of Rs 25/50 per quintal this week and with this rise and fall, the prices remained stable at Jodhpur Rs 4900/5350, Jaipur Rs 5925, Bikaner Rs 5400/5600, Kishangarh Rs 5300/5500 and Kota Rs 4700/5250 per quintal at the weekend.
Maharashtra
Due to limited arrivals and weak selling pressure in the producing markets, Maharashtra gram prices witnessed a correction of Rs. 50 per quintal during the current week. With this correction, the prices at the weekend stood at Rs. 5600/6100 in Solapur, Rs. 5500 in Latur, Rs. 5950 in Akola, Rs. 5950 in Nagpur, and Rs. 5750/5950 per quintal in Ahmednagar.
Madhya Pradesh
Due to improved demand, Madhya Pradesh gram prices witnessed a correction of Rs. 25/50 per quintal this week. With this correction, the prices at the weekend stood at Rs. 5400/5500 in Ashoknagar, Rs. 5300/5600 in Ganjbasoda, Rs. 5300/5600 in Sagar, Rs. 5300/5600 in Katni, Rs. 5800/5850 in Indore and Rs. 5750/5900 per quintal.
Other
Due to sluggish demand, Kanpur gram prices fluctuated by Rs. 50 per quintal this week, ending the week at Rs. 5900 per quintal. Similarly, Raipur gram prices fluctuated by Rs. 50 per quintal this week, remaining stable at Rs. 5650/5850 per quintal.
Chana Dal
Due to sporadic buying, gram dal prices improved by Rs. 25/50 per quintal during the current week, and with this improvement, the weekend prices remained at Rs. 6825/7175 in Delhi, Rs. 6900/7000 in Bhatapara, Rs. 7250 in Katni, Rs. 6800/7100 in Gulbarga, Rs. 7000/7700 in Jalgaon, Rs. 6750/6800 in Indore, Rs. 6775 in Jaipur, and Rs. 6700/6750 per quintal in Kanpur.
