Groundnut Prices Soften Amidst Normal Arrivals and Low Buying Activity

New Delhi: Groundnut arrivals in the markets (mandis) of major producing states—such as Gujarat, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, and Uttar Pradesh—have remained at normal levels; however, prices continue to fluctuate based on buying activity from purchasers.
Gujarat / Rajasthan
During the week of April 11–17, groundnut prices remained stable at ₹6,000–₹9,000 per quintal in Rajkot (Gujarat) and at ₹7,400 per quintal in Bikaner (Rajasthan). In contrast, prices in Solapur (Maharashtra) declined by ₹300, settling at ₹7,700 per quintal.
Uttar Pradesh
Similarly, in Uttar Pradesh, groundnut prices remained steady at ₹7,000–₹7,400 per quintal in the Mahoba market. However, prices dropped by ₹500 in Jhansi to range between ₹6,500 and ₹7,300 per quintal, and fell by ₹300 in Mauranipur to range between ₹6,700 and ₹7,200 per quintal.
Groundnut Kernels
Trading activity for shelled groundnut kernels remained sluggish; consequently, prices either held steady or recorded a decline of ₹100–₹200 per quintal. Demand for loose groundnut oil also remained weak, causing prices in Rajkot, Gondal, Junagadh, and Jamnagar to drop by ₹25 to settle at ₹1,700 per 10 kilograms. In Rajkot, the price of a 15-kilogram tin of groundnut oil also fell by ₹90 to ₹2,640. Prices remained soft in other centers as well.
Branded Oil
In Kota, prices for branded groundnut oil remained stable, while in Jaipur, the price of filtered oil witnessed a slight decline. Overall trading volume remained lower than normal.
