Moong prices fall due to increased availability and weak demand

New Delhi. Moong prices declined this week due to increased pressure of arrivals in the producing markets and weak demand. Due to increased availability and weak demand for moong dal, buying by dal millers has remained limited, due to which pressure remains on moong prices. Buying by stockists has also remained weak due to high moisture content. Due to weak buying by dal millers, Delhi moong prices witnessed a decline of Rs 100 per quintal in the current week and the price remained at Rs 8000/8300 per quintal.
Rajasthan
Due to increased availability of new moong in producer markets and weak demand, moong prices in Rajasthan markets declined by Rs. 250/500 per quintal during the current week and the weekend prices remained at Jodhpur Rs. 6000/8000, Jaipur Rs. 7200/8000, Sumerpur Rs. 6000/7500, Nagaur Rs. 7400/8000 and Kishangarh Rs. 6000/7500 per quintal.
Madhya Pradesh
Due to sluggish demand, moong prices in Madhya Pradesh declined by Rs. 100/200 per quintal during the current week and the weekend prices remained at Pipariya Rs. 6000/8400, Indore Rs. 8000/8300, Kareli Rs. 6725/8500 and Jabalpur Rs. 6500/7950 per quintal.
Karnataka
Due to weak buying by dal millers, Karnataka moong prices declined by Rs. 200/300 per quintal this week and at the end of the week, the prices remained at Gulbarga Rs. 4000/8200, Bidar Rs. 6812/8689, Hubli Rs. 6570/7700, Yadgir Rs. 6821/7073 and Gadag Rs. 6814/8714 per quintal.
Maharashtra
Due to weak demand from dal millers, Maharashtra moong prices declined by Rs. 200/300 per quintal during the current week and at the end of the week, the prices remained at Latur Rs. 7000/8300, Akola Rs. 7200/10100, Barshi Rs. 7000/8000, Ahmednagar Rs. 6000/8000 and Dudhani Rs. 5500/8300 per quintal.
Others
Due to the impact of all-round decline and weak demand, Lalitpur moong prices declined by Rs. 400 per quintal this week and with this decline, the price remained at Rs. 7000/7700 per quintal at the end of the week.
Moong Dal
Due to sluggish demand, Moong Dal prices witnessed a decline of Rs. 100/200 per quintal during the current week and the price remained at Rs. 10500/13100 at Delhi, Rs. 10500/13100 at Jodhpur, Rs. 9800/10000 at Jaipur, Rs. 10100 at Bhatapara, Rs. 10600 at Jalgaon, Rs. 10700 and Indore, Rs. 9400/10500 per quintal.
