Buying of moong calm due to increased availability
New Delhi. Moong prices declined this week due to increasing arrivals of summer new moong in major producing markets and weak demand. With the increase in arrivals in the markets, stockists have increased selling, due to which there is pressure on the market. The production of summer moong is continuously increasing, due to which there is excess supply in the market. According to the information received, moong production in the summer season 2022-23 was around 16 lakh tonnes, which increased to 18 lakh tonnes in 2023-24. In the current season 2024-25, this production is likely to reach 19 to 20 lakh tonnes. Due to increased selling pressure and weak buying by dal millers, prices of Delhi moong declined by Rs. 200/300 per quintal during the current week and with this decline, the prices remained at Rs. 7500/7750 for Rajasthan line and Rs. 8000/8050 per quintal for Madhya Pradesh line.
Rajasthan
Due to increased selling and weak buying, prices of moong in Rajasthan mandis declined by Rs. 150/300 per quintal during the current week and at the weekend the prices remained at Jodhpur Rs. 6300/7300, Jaipur Rs. 6800/7800, Nagaur Rs. 7000/7600, Merta Rs. 7200/8000 and Kishangarh Rs. 5300/7000 per quintal.
Madhya Pradesh
Due to increased arrival pressure of new summer moong in the producing markets this week and sluggish demand, the prices of Madhya Pradesh moong witnessed a decline of Rs. 100/200 per quintal during the current week and the prices remained at Pipariya Rs. 5500/7050, Indore Rs. 7500/8000, Jabalpur Rs. 5000/7100 and Khirkiya new Rs. 7600/7800 per quintal at the weekend.
Karnataka
Due to sluggish buying, the prices of Karnataka moong witnessed a decline of Rs. 100/200 per quintal during the current week and the prices remained at Gulbarga Rs. 4500/7800, Yadgir Rs. 7001/7560 and Hubli Rs. 6589 per quintal at the weekend.
Maharashtra
Due to subdued buying, prices of Maharashtra moong witnessed a fall of Rs. 50/100 per quintal during the current week and at the weekend the prices remained at Latur Rs. 7000/7500, Akola Rs. 6050/8700, Barshi Rs. 6000/6700, Ahmednagar Rs. 6000/7500 and Khamgaon Rs. 6000/7500 per quintal.
Others
Due to lack of demand, prices of Uttar Pradesh moong witnessed a fall of Rs. 100/150 per quintal during the current week and with this fall the prices remained at Lalitpur Rs. 4000/7400, Konch Rs. 7000/7400 and Jalaun Rs. 7330 per quintal. Moong Dal
Due to sluggish demand, prices of Moong Dal declined by Rs. 100/150 per quintal during last week and the prices at the weekend remained at Delhi Rs. 9700/12300, Jodhpur Rs. 9300/9700, Jaipur Rs. 9100, Bhatapara Rs. 9100/9800, Jalgaon Rs. 9800/10100 and Indore Rs. 9000/9900 per quintal.
