New Delhi: During the week of September 5–11, mustard prices saw limited fluctuations of ₹25–50 per quintal, in line with supply and demand dynamics, although some markets witnessed swings of up to ₹200–250.

The price of 42% condition mustard rose by ₹50 to ₹8,300 per quintal in Delhi and improved by ₹25 to ₹8,425 per quintal in Jaipur.

Prices for average quality mustard also remained above ₹7,500 per quintal. During the week under review, the price jumped by ₹220 to ₹8,260 per quintal in Haryana's Adampur market but fell by ₹200 in Hisar and ₹250 in Sirsa, settling at ₹7,500–7,800 and ₹7,950 per quintal, respectively. Meanwhile, prices rose by ₹50 in Barwala and Charkhi Dadri. A similar rise was observed in Morena and Porsa (Madhya Pradesh), whereas the price softened by ₹50 in Gwalior. In Uttar Pradesh, the price increased by ₹50 to ₹8,600 per quintal in Hapur and improved by ₹25 to ₹8,700–9,150 per quintal in Agra. Markets in Rajasthan—the leading producing state—remained generally quiet or subdued, with price declines ranging from ₹15 to ₹75 per quintal.

Prices for mustard oil (expeller and Kachi Ghani) remained either stable or soft. In Delhi, the price of expeller oil fell by ₹10 to ₹1,680 per 10 kg. In Kota, prices for both varieties of mustard oil softened by ₹10 each. A softening of ₹5–10 per 10 kg was also observed in Jaipur. Overall, trading in mustard oil remained sluggish.

At the national level, daily mustard arrivals dropped below 3 lakh bags (50 kg per bag). Arrivals were recorded at 1.50 lakh bags on September 5, 2.50 lakh bags on September 7, 2.50 lakh bags on September 8, 2 lakh bags on September 9, 2.25 lakh bags on September 10, and 2 lakh bags on September 11.

Active trading took place in mustard oil cake and DOC during the week. Prices saw a significant rise driven by strong domestic and export demand. In Charkhi Dadri, the price of oil cake increased by ₹100 to reach ₹3,270 per quintal.
