Buying of peas calm due to increased availability
Kanpur. Buying and selling of peas remained calm this week after the import deadline was extended. Due to which not much fluctuation was seen in the prices. After India extended the pea import deadline, an increase was seen in the prices of peas in Canada. The current bidding is 9.75-10.25$/Bushel Afobi Farm. Pea harvesting in Canada is almost complete, production is 21% more than last year. Canada's eyes are fixed on Russia's export of peas to China and India. Bad weather in Russia is affecting the productivity. Due to sluggish demand, no rise or fall was seen in the prices of imported peas this week and the prices remained Mumbai Canada 3800/3850 rupees Russia 3600/3650 rupees and currency Canada 3650/3700 rupees and Russia 3550/3600 rupees per quintal at the weekend. Similarly, the buying of Desi peas also remained very quiet. Due to sluggish buying, there was no rise or fall in the prices of Kanpur peas this week and the prices remained at Rs. 4050 per quintal at the weekend. Due to weak demand, the prices of Lalitpur peas declined by Rs. 100 per quintal during this week and the prices remained at Rs. 3500/3625 per quintal at the weekend. Due to sluggish buying, Mahoba peas declined by Rs. 50 per quintal last week and remained at Rs. 3650/3800 per quintal at the weekend. Similarly, a decline of Rs. 100 per quintal was also seen in Mauranipur peas and the prices remained at Rs. 35500/3650 per quintal at the weekend. Due to the impact of all-round decline and sluggish demand, Damoh peas registered a decline of Rs. 175 per quintal and with this decline, the prices remained at Rs. 3600/3725 per quintal at the weekend.

Due to the fall in the price of peas and weak demand, the prices of peas witnessed a fall of Rs. 50 per quintal during the last week and the prices remained at Rs. 4450/4500 per quintal in Kanpur and Rs. 4500/4600 per quintal in Indore at the end of the week.
