Turvar prices rise supported by strong demand

Mumbai. Turvar prices remained on an upward trend during the current week. Weak selling pressure and strong demand supported turvar prices. Recent unseasonal rains in turvar-producing areas have damaged the crop, leading to fears of a reduced production in the upcoming season. Due to improved demand, Mumbai African Tur prices saw an increase of Rs. 50 per quintal this week, and the prices at the weekend were Rs. 5450/5500 for Mozambique White, Rs. 5150/5200 for Gajari, Rs. 5000/5050 for Mtwara, Rs. 5000/5050 for Malawi, Rs. 4900/4950 for Sudan and Rs. 6350/6400 per quintal for Sudan. Similarly, Chennai Tur Lemon saw an increase of Rs. 75 per quintal this week, and with this increase, the prices at the weekend stood at Rs. 6300 per quintal.
Imported
Due to weak selling by exporters, Burma Tur prices saw an increase of $22 per tonne this week, and with this increase, the prices at the weekend reached $695 per tonne. Similarly, African Tuvar prices also saw a rise of $15-20 per tonne this week, and with this rise, the prices at the weekend reached $575 for Mozambique White, $530 for Mtwara, $580 for Arusha, and $560 for Gajri.
Delhi
Due to the support of the rise in port prices and increased demand, Delhi Tuvar Lemon saw a rise of Rs 50 per quintal and Desi Tuvar also saw a rise of Rs 50 per quintal during the current week, and with this rise, the prices at the weekend reached Rs 6700 for Lemon and Rs 6850 for Desi.
Maharashtra
Due to weak selling and increased buying, Maharashtra Tur prices witnessed an increase of Rs. 100/250 per quintal during the current week. With this increase, the prices at Solapur reached Rs. 6000/7000, Akola Rs. 6850/7050, Latur Rs. 6800/6970, Nagpur Rs. 6950/7000 and Hinganghat Rs. 6100/6850 per quintal.
Karnataka
Due to better buying, Karnataka Tur prices witnessed an increase of Rs. 100/200 per quintal during the current week. With this increase, the prices at Gulbarga Rs. 6500/7171, Raichur Rs. 5306/6618, Bidar Rs. 5669/6733, Yadgir Rs. 5789/6899 and Talikot Rs. 5625/6619 per quintal at the end of the week.
Madhya Pradesh
Due to improved demand, Madhya Pradesh Tur prices rose by Rs. 100 per quintal this week, reaching Rs. 6900/7200 per quintal at Katni, Rs. 5000/6400 per quintal at Jabalpur, Rs. 5000/6400 per quintal at Pipariya, Rs. 5000/6200 per quintal at Pipariya.
Other
Due to support from the rally and increased buying, Kanpur Tur prices rose by Rs. 100 per quintal this week, reaching Rs. 6100 per quintal at the weekend. Similarly, Raipur Tur prices rose by Rs. 100 per quintal this week, reaching Rs. 6950/7150 per quintal at the weekend.
Tuvar Dal
Supported by the rise in Tuvar prices and festive demand, the prices of Tuvar Dal have increased by Rs. 100/200 per quintal during the current week and with this increase, the prices at the weekend reached Delhi Fatka at Rs. 9675/10125, Katni Fatka at Rs. 9150/9550, Akola at Rs. 9400/10500, Latur Fatka at Rs. 10200/10400, Gulbarga Fatka at Rs. 9600/10300 and Kanpur Fatka at Rs. 9400/9500 per quintal.
