Urad prices rise due to increased buying

Chennai. Urad prices have seen a rise during the current week due to weakening of selling at reduced prices and increased buying. Due to weakening of selling by exporters, demand for imported urad also increased, which supported the rising prices. Due to weakening of selling by importers and increased buying, Chennai urad registered a rise of Rs 100/125 per quintal this week and the price remained at Rs 8275 for FAQ and Rs 9125 per quintal at the weekend. Similarly, Mumbai urad also increased by Rs 50 per quintal this week to Rs 8500 per quintal at the weekend.
Burma
Due to increase in export demand, Burma Urad FAQ has witnessed a rise of $ 25 and SQ has witnessed a rise of $ 30 per tonne during the current week and with this increase, the price at weekend remained at $ 1010 for FAQ and $ 11110 for SQ per tonne.
Delhi
Due to increase in buying by port and dal millers, Delhi Urad FAQ has witnessed a rise of Rs 100 and SQ has witnessed a rise of Rs 125 per quintal during the current week and the price at weekend became Rs 8625/50 for FAQ and Rs 9500 for SQ per quintal.
Madhya Pradesh
Due to increased availability and sluggish buying by pulses millers, prices of Madhya Pradesh urad witnessed a decline of Rs. 100/200 per quintal during the current week and with this decline, the prices at the weekend remained at Ashoknagar Rs. 7200/7300, Jabalpur Rs. 6000/8300, Kareli Rs. 6500/6950, Damoh Rs. 5000/7600 and Indore Rs. 7500/8000 per quintal.
Maharashtra
Due to increased buying by dal millers, Maharashtra urad prices registered a rise of Rs. 200/300 per quintal this week and with this increase, the prices at the weekend remained at Akola Rs. 8650, Latur Rs. 6000/8400, Solapur Rs. 6100/8200, Dudhni Rs. 5500/8600, Akkalkot Rs. 6000/8200 and Ahmednagar Rs. 5500/7700 per quintal.
Others
Due to support of all round rise and increased buying, Krishna District urad of Andhra Pradesh witnessed a rise of Rs. 50 and Vijayawada urad witnessed a rise of Rs. 50 per quintal this week and the prices at the weekend became Krishna District Rs. 9100 and Vijayawada Rs. 9050 per quintal.
Urad Dal
Due to weak demand, the prices of Urad Dal witnessed a rise of Rs. 100 per quintal during the current week and with this fall, the prices at the weekend remained at Delhi Rs. 10800/11500, Bhatapara Rs. 10700, Jalgaon Rs. 11500, Meerut Rs. 9800/10200 and Indore Rs. 10500/12000 per quintal.
