Export Inspections data showed that 444,138 MT (16.32 million bushels) of wheat were shipped during the week ending October 9. This was 18.99% lower than the previous week but 16.85% higher than the same week last year.
Indonesia was the largest buyer with 77,936 MT, followed by Japan with 70,338 MT and Mexico with 68,856 MT.
Total wheat exports for the current marketing year have reached 10.665 MMT (391.852 million bushels), 18.11% higher than the same period last year.
South Korea has issued a tender to purchase 95,000 MT of wheat from the U.S. and Canada, with bids due Wednesday. France’s Farm Ministry reduced the country’s soft wheat crop estimate to 33.2 MMT, down 0.1 MMT from last month.
European Commission data showed EU soft wheat exports from July 1 to October 12 at 5.51 MMT, down 1.61 MMT from the same period last year.
