75% of Bajra Crop in Rajasthan Affected: State Agriculture Minister
★ Rajasthan’s Agriculture Minister stated that due to excessive rainfall, crop production in the current 2025-26 season may fall short compared to the 2024-25 season. About 75% of the bajra (pearl millet) crop has been damaged, though production figures are yet to be released.
★ As of 9th September, bajra acreage in Rajasthan stood at 43.15 lakh hectares, slightly lower than last year. Guar acreage is 24.51 lakh hectares (vs. 27.21 lakh hectares last year), maize 9.85 lakh hectares (vs. 9.70 lakh hectares last year), while soybean acreage declined to 9.83 lakh hectares compared to 10.80 lakh hectares last year.
