According to a news source, the government is considering re-imposing an import duty on lentils (masoor).

★ It is stated that the crops of lentils and chickpeas will soon be available in the markets, and their imports are allowed until March 31.
★ Given the upcoming Bihar elections, the government may focus more on lentils in the coming days.
★ Prices in the markets are below the MSP (Minimum Support Price).
★ Private and public sectors have a stock of 550,000 tons of lentils available.
★ Between April and November, 590,000 tons of lentils were imported, which is less than the previous year's import during the same period. Last year, there was a record amount of lentil imports.
