Vijayawada. The Andhra Pradesh government has decided to cut the prices of some essential commodities with the aim of giving some relief to the common people from the rising food inflation.

The new government is continuously working to make the items of daily use cheaper so that the financial burden on the common man can be reduced.

Decisions are being taken gradually for this. According to the information received, the price of Tuvar Dal was running at Rs 160 per kg, which has been reduced by Rs 10 and now fixed at Rs 150 per kg.

This price will be effective in all the Raitu Bazaars of the state. Similarly, the price of rice has also been reduced.

Residents of Andhra Pradesh buy essential commodities in large quantities from the Raitu Bazaar Center and the common people are said to be very happy with the reduction in prices there.

The State Civil Supplies Department has set up several centers for the sale of Tuvar Dal at a discounted price in the Raitu Bazaar of Visakhapatnam.

Regular efforts are being made by the department to reduce the prices of essential commodities. Officials say that the price of tuvar dal in the open market has gone up so much that it has become very difficult for the common people to buy it.

Similarly, the price of rice has also gone up and it has become impossible to buy rice at a price below Rs 50 per kg in any open market of Visakhapatnam.

This has increased the difficulties of the people a lot. The price of tuvar dal had earlier jumped to above Rs 200 per kg, which later came down to Rs 160 per kg and now it is being made available to the common people at the rate of Rs 150 per kg at the Raitu Bazaar Center.

As far as rice is concerned, it is being sold at the rate of Rs 47-48 per kg, whereas earlier it was being sold at Rs 49 and Rs 50 per kg.

According to the Civil Supplies Department, the price of a 26 kg bag of Sona Masuri rice has been fixed at Rs 1248 and the price of other varieties of rice has been fixed at Rs 1222.
