Brazil- Increase in Sugar Production
★ According to Brazil’s industry group UNICA –
★ Sugar production in the second half of August rose by 18.21%, reaching 3.87 million tons.
★ Sugarcane crushing increased by 10.68% to 50.06 million tons.
★ The average TRS (Total Recoverable Sugar) fell to 149.79 kg/ton, down 3.87% from last year.
★ For the season so far, average TRS is down 4.16% to 131.76 kg/ton.
★ Ethanol output (including corn-based production) reached 2.42 billion liters in the second half of August.
