★ According to the Stats Canada report, total pulse production in Canada is expected to increase.
★ Pea production is projected to rise by 4.11 lakh tonnes to 34.08 lakh tonnes, lentil production by 2.24 lakh tonnes to 26.55 lakh tonnes, and chickpeas by 0.22 lakh tonnes to 3.09 lakh tonnes compared to last year.
★ With this increase, it is clear that the availability of these three pulses in Canada will remain good.
★ In addition, other countries like Australia (desi chickpeas and lentils) and Russia (yellow peas) are also seeing higher production.
★ This indicates that global availability of pulses will remain strong, which could influence international prices.
