2024-25 Season
★ Due to reduced demand from the U.S. and Turkey, Canada's chickpea export forecast has been downgraded.
★ Carry-out stocks are expected to rise significantly due to higher production. The average price is projected to fall to $765/tonne.

2025-26 Season
★ Due to growing stocks and lower returns compared to other crops, the seeded area is expected to decline by 6%.
★ Production is projected to fall to 265,000 tonnes, but total supply will increase due to high carry-in stocks.
★ Exports are expected to rise, but carry-out stocks may also increase. With expectations of higher global supply, prices may decline further.

★ According to the USDA, in 2025-26, the chickpea seeded area in the U.S. is expected to rise by 12% to 560,000 acres, mainly due to increased planting in Montana.
