★ In the first quarter of the season (the first three months), Australia exported nearly 1.3 million tons of desi chickpeas, with India being the largest importer, purchasing 990,000 tons. Demand from Bangladesh and Pakistan also began rising due to Ramadan.
★ Since December, about 300,000 tons have been shipped in bulk from the Brisbane port.
★ December saw an 88% increase in exports compared to November.
★ Exporters are looking to sell as much as possible before March 30.
