Conab raises 2024/25 soybean and corn estimates
★ Conab has increased its production estimates for Brazil’s 2024/25 soybean and corn crops.
★ The soybean estimate was raised by 1.8 million tons to 171.4 million tons, while the corn estimate was increased by 2.7 million tons to 139.7 million tons.
★ In 2024/25, Brazilian farmers expanded soybean acreage and achieved record yields. The soybean area stood at 47.35 million hectares, up 2.7% from last year. Brazil’s total soybean production in 2024/25 was 20 million tons, or 13.3% higher than in 2023/24.
★ The 2024/25 Brazilian corn crop is estimated at 139.7 million tons, up 20.9% compared to last year.
Safrinha corn accounted for 80.5% of the total production, while the first corn crop represented 17.9%.
★ Brazil’s total grain production in 2024/25 set a record at 350.2 million tons, up 16.3% or 49.1 million tons from last year. Soybeans, corn, rice, and cotton together contributed an additional 47 million tons.
