Ethiopia has seen remarkable growth in the export of pulses and oilseeds, significantly boosting the agricultural sector's contribution to the country's overall export revenue. The government’s efforts to enhance production and improve quality have yielded positive results, increasing both the quantity and income from agricultural exports. During the last five months, Ethiopia earned approximately $2.06 billion from exports, with pulses and oilseeds playing a major role in this increase. The previous year saw earnings of $675 million from these exports, highlighting a growing demand for Ethiopian products globally. The government has introduced various initiatives over the last six years to raise productivity, improve quality, and modernize marketing, ensuring that farmers are not compelled to sell at low prices. The Ethiopian government aims to achieve $5 billion in exports for the current financial year, with strong progress made so far.
