Global Raw Cashew Production Expected to Rise by 8–10% in 2025

Hanoi: Global raw cashew nut production is estimated to increase by 8–10% in 2025 compared to 2024, according to leading industry analysts in Vietnam. As a result, processors are being advised not to rush into purchases.

In Tanzania, cashew prices dropped sharply—from $2000–2050 per tonne to as low as $1350 per tonne, reflecting a significant production boost. The country’s output, which was 2.4 lakh tonnes in 2023, surged to 4.4 lakh tonnes in 2024.

Experts suggest that global production could rise by 15–20%, driven by an expanded sowing area and a 10% increase in yield.

According to the Vietnamese Cashew Association (Vinacas), global output may reach 60 lakh tonnes in 2025.

However, concerns remain over Cambodia, where recent heavy rains, cold, and dry weather have damaged nearly 50% of the cashew crop in Kampong province.
