Government Extends Duty-Free Cotton Import Period
★ Today, the Ministry of Finance issued a circular extending the duty-free cotton import period until 31 December 2025.
★ Earlier, on 19 August, the period had been extended only until 30 September 2025.
★ With such a short import window, large-scale cotton imports were not possible, which led to the further extension.
★ This development could cause significant losses to the domestic cotton industry before the arrival of the new crop.
