No possibility of decline
New Delhi. Recently, Isabgol prices have increased by Rs 100/200 per quintal. Looking at the current situation, there is no possibility of decline in prices in the near future. Prices are expected to increase gradually in the coming days.
However, during the current season, the production of Isabgol in the major producing states Rajasthan and Gujarat was less than last year, but due to high outstanding stock, prices fell and currently the prices started being quoted at the minimum level. Due to increase in local purchases at reduced prices, prices have been quoted with a rise of Rs 100/200 during the current week. It is worth mentioning that at present, the prices of Isabgol are being quoted at Rs 10000/11500 per quintal in the major Mandis of Rajasthan, Naukha, Nagaur, Merta Mandi. The prices in Unjha Mandi are running at Rs 10000/11700. At present, the price of Isabgol in the mandis of the producing centers is 20/25 rupees per kg lower than last year. Last year, during the same period, the price was 13000/14000 rupees per quintal. It is noteworthy that in July-2023, the record price of Isabgol became Rs 26000/27000. Due to which record sowing was done at the producing centers for the year 2024 and production also reached record levels.
Incoming decreased
Due to most of the total production coming to the mandis, the arrival in the mandis has remained very low at present. The arrival in Unjha Mandi has remained 2000/2500 bags. It is noteworthy that during the season, the daily arrival of Isabgol in Unjha Mandi had become 23/25 thousand bags, whereas in the mandis of Rajasthan, the arrival was 10/12 thousand bags.
Low production
During the current season, the production of Isabgol in the country was low. The new crop of Isabgol starts in the month of March-April. According to the information received, the production of Isabgol in the country during the current season was estimated to be 28/30 lakh bags (each bag 70/75 kg). Whereas in the year 2024, the production was estimated to be 38/40 lakh bags. Although the production was low during the current season, but the total availability was good due to the high outstanding stock. Due to which the prices of Isabgol are not able to increase till now. According to the information received, the stock of Isabgol at the producing centers at the time of new crop was considered to be 7/8 lakh bags.
Slow-Rise
Due to the prices of Isabgol coming to the minimum level, there is no possibility of slowdown in prices now. Because the arrival in the markets has reduced significantly. Apart from this, 6/7 months are left for the arrival of new goods to start. Knowledgeable traders say that the price of Isabgol is likely to rise by 8/10 rupees per kg in the months of September-October. And in the coming days, the prices are expected to rise to Rs 110/125 per kg.
Export
