In Chhattisgarh, the rice procurement target was not met
★ Despite the bonus being given on MSP, the procurement remained low.
★ As of January 31, around 15 million tons of rice were procured.
★ The procurement target for the current year was 16 million tons, while 14.49 million tons of rice were procured last year.
★ The rice was procured at Rs. 3,100 per quintal (Rs. 2,300 MSP with Rs. 800 input subsidy), which is the highest in any state in India, yet the procurement target was not achieved.
