India likely to see a sharp surge in pigeon pea imports in FY 2024-25
★ As per recent estimates, India is expected to import 12,39,222 metric tons of pigeon pea in the fiscal year 2024-25. This marks a significant jump of 4,68,197.2 metric tons compared to the 7,71,025 metric tons imported in 2023-24.
★ This projected growth also surpasses the 8,95,086 metric tons imported in 2022-23 by 54,622.7 metric tons, indicating a steady upward trend in import demand.

- November: 1,85,615 metric tons  
- September: 1,89,547 metric tons
