Indonesia’s Palm Oil Exports Surge in July
★ In July, Indonesia exported 3.0 million tons of palm oil, up 69% from 1.77 million tons in the same month last year. However, exports were slightly lower than 3.04 million tons in June.
Key export destinations were as follows:
★ India: 655,000 tons, including 621,000 tons of crude palm oil.
★ China: 388,000 tons
★ Pakistan: 361,000 tons
★ European Union: 194,000 tons
★ From January to July, Indonesia’s total palm oil exports reached 13.64 million tons, up 10.95% compared to last year.
★ With India’s festive season demand expected to rise, palm oil imports from Indonesia and Malaysia are likely to increase. The growth in Indian imports is boosting KLC markets, which is expected to have an impact on domestic markets as well.
