A few more private export sales were announced this morning, including 125,000 metric tons to unknown destinations and another 227,160 metric tons to unknown destinations (during the reporting period), both for 2025/26. This took this week’s announced flash sales for new crop to 1.147 million metric tons. Grain Crushing data showed that 447.97 million bushels of corn were used for ethanol in June, up 0.8% from the previous month and 0.41% higher than June 2024. According to CFTC data, as of July 29, spec funds added 3,820 futures and options contracts to their net short position, bringing it to a total of 181,185 contracts.
