ICE cotton futures closed Wednesday's session 40 to 60 points higher. Crude oil rose by $2.09 to $67.54 per barrel, while the US Dollar Index slipped $0.032 to 96.435.
Earlier today, President Trump announced a trade deal with Vietnam, noting that the country is imposing no tariffs on US goods. Roughly 24.8% of all US cotton export commitments for 2024/25 are designated for Vietnam.
On Tuesday, The Seam reported 97 bales sold in the online auction at an average price of 64 cents. On July 1, the Cotlook A Index dropped 125 points to 78.90. ICE cotton stocks fell by 195 bales through decertification, leaving certified stocks at 40,488 bales. The USDA's Adjusted World Price (AWP) was raised by 15 points last Thursday to 54.18 cents per pound and is scheduled for another update tomorrow.
