International Cotton Market  
ICE cotton futures closed Tuesday with gains of 82 to 97 points across nearby contracts. The US dollar index was down $0.635 on the day to 96.265, while crude oil futures were $1.22 higher.  
According to NASS, as of Sunday, 50% of US cotton bolls were open and 9% of the crop had been harvested. Crop condition ratings fell 2% to 52%, while the Brugler500 index dropped 5 points to 344. Ratings in Texas and Georgia were each down 4 points.  
The Seam reported 1,791 bales sold on Monday at an average price of 64.64 cents per lb. On September 15, the Cotlook A Index was up 5 points to 78.10 cents. ICE certified cotton stocks were steady at 15,474 bales on September 15. USDA’s Adjusted World Price (AWP) fell another 21 points last week to 54.10 cents per lb, effective through this Thursday.
