International Cotton Market
ICE cotton futures recovered some of Tuesday's losses during the midweek session, with contracts rising by 30 to 43 cents. External markets showed mixed factors, as crude oil futures remained under pressure, dropping by $1.87 per barrel. The U.S. dollar index provided support, falling by $1.417 during the day, reaching its lowest level since early November.
On Tuesday, The Seam’s online auction sold 2,288 bales at an average price of 58.25 cents per pound. The Cotlook A Index rose by 25 points on March 4, reaching 76.25 cents per pound. ICE cotton stocks increased by 1,118 bales on March 4, bringing the total to 13,771 bales.
On Thursday afternoon, the USDA lowered its Adjusted World Price (AWP) by 78 points to 53.89 cents per pound. It will be updated again tomorrow.
