International Cotton Market Update:
ICE Cotton futures saw a decline of 76 to 90 points on Wednesday. The broader markets were mixed, with crude oil futures dropping by $1.50 per barrel. The U.S. dollar index was down 0.363 during the day.
According to census data, U.S. cotton exports in December totaled 843,230 bales, which was 23.91% lower than last year but 28.02% higher than November.
On February 4, CME reported an online sale of 8,781 bales, with an average price of 59.39 cents per pound. ICE cotton stocks remained unchanged on Tuesday, with 218 bales in certified stocks. The Cotlook A Index rose 25 points to 77.05 cents per pound on February 4. The USDA's adjusted world price (AWP) increased by 31 points to 54.02 cents per pound last week and will be updated on Thursday afternoon.
