International Cotton Market Update
ICE cotton prices closed Monday’s session with gains of 20 to 26 points. External markets showed mixed factors—crude oil futures fell by $1.35 per barrel, while the U.S. dollar index dropped by $1.078.
According to Monday’s Cotton Systems report, 259 running bales (RB) of cotton were consumed in January, while total stock on January 31 stood at 601 RB.
On February 28, The Seam recorded 710 bales sold online at an average price of 47.89 cents per pound. Meanwhile, the Cotlook A Index fell by 25 points to 77.25 cents per pound on the same day.
ICE cotton stock levels remained unchanged on Friday, with certified stocks currently at 12,653 bales.
On Thursday afternoon, the USDA reduced its Adjusted World Price (AWP) by 78 points to 53.89 cents per pound.
