President Trump is scheduled to hold a phone call with China’s President Xi Jinping on Friday morning, with trade talks expected to be on the agenda.
Weekly Export Sales data showed 923,018 MT of 2025/26 soybeans booked in the week ending September 11. This was 47.2% lower than the same week last year, but up 70% from the previous week. The largest buyer was Mexico at 195,400 MT, followed by Spain at 179,400 MT. China has yet to make any purchases.
Soymeal sales totaled 31,151 MT for the current marketing year, and 151,344 MT for 2025/26—within the expected range of 0 to 400,000 MT. Soybean oil business was reported at 22,367 MT, within trade expectations ranging from net reductions of 5,000 MT to sales of 41,000 MT.
CONAB has pegged Brazil’s 2025/26 soybean crop at 177.67 MMT, up from 171.47 MMT last year. The increase is mainly attributed to higher acreage, which is up 1.73 million hectares to 49.08 million hectares (121.28 million acres).
