International Soybean Market
An additional 50% tariff on China will go into effect tomorrow, April 9, raising the total tariff on all Chinese goods to 104%.
According to a Reuters report, a coalition of representatives from the oil and biofuel industries has requested the EPA to set the new biodiesel volume at 5.25 billion gallons. While this would be an increase from the current 3.35 billion gallons, it falls short of the initial expectations of 5.5 to 5.75 billion gallons.
On Thursday, the USDA will update the U.S. and global balance sheets through its monthly WASDE report. According to a Reuters survey of analysts, the trade expects U.S. soybean ending stocks to be estimated at 379 million bushels (mbu), slightly down from 380 mbu reported last month.
