The weather outlook for next week shows the potential for heavy rainfall in Nebraska, southeastern South Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and parts of Michigan, with expected accumulations of 1 to 5 inches in some areas. The Southern Plains, Missouri, and Eastern Corn Belt are likely to see lesser amounts. However, rainfall distribution will not be uniform—Omaha, for example, has a 20-40% chance of rain on any given day. Most of the Corn Belt is expected to remain unseasonably warm, with temperatures forecasted 7 to 15˚F above normal over the next 5-10 days. Daytime highs above 100˚F are likely this weekend across the Plains and Western Corn Belt but should ease early next week.

Soybean meal sales last week totaled 174,302 metric tons, with 160,281 metric tons for the current marketing year, which was at the lower end of trade estimates between 150,000 to 450,000 metric tons. Soybean oil sales posted a net reduction of 1,473 metric tons due to deferrals and cancellations, below expectations of 0 to 32,000 metric tons.
China imported 12.11 million metric tons of soybeans from Brazil in May, significantly higher than last year according to customs data. Imports from the US rose 11.7% year-over-year to 1.63 million metric tons.
