Export Sales data for the week ending August 21 showed wheat sales of 579,794 MT, within the trade estimate range of 400,000 to 700,000 MT. That was an 11.55% increase from last week. Vietnam was the largest buyer at 156,800 MT, followed by Nigeria with 106,000 MT and Mexico with 94,200 MT. Net cancellations of 139,600 MT from unknown destinations were mostly switched to other destinations.

Canadian wheat production is estimated at 35.548 MMT, slightly below the trade average estimate of 35.9 MMT and down 1.1% from last year. Spring wheat production is pegged at 25.992 MMT, down 2% year over year.

The European Commission estimates the 2025/26 wheat crop at 128.1 MMT, up 0.8 MMT from last month. Ending stocks are expected to rise 0.5 MMT to 7.6 MMT.
