USDA’s weekly Crop Progress report showed 85% of the US spring wheat harvest was complete as of September 7, 1 percentage point ahead of the normal pace. Montana and the Dakotas were behind, while the other three major states were ahead of normal.
Ukraine’s winter wheat acreage is expected to rise to 4.75 million hectares (11.74 million acres), up 0.25 million hectares (617,700 acres) from last year, according to the economy ministry. European Commission data shows wheat exports at 3.2 MMT from July 1 through September 1, compared to 5.05 MMT during the same period last year.
Stats Canada reported July 31 wheat stocks at 4.112 MMT, down 22.1% year over year. Wheat excluding durum stood at 3.616 MMT, down 21.5%.
