At the end of Wednesday’s session, President Trump announced a 90-day tariff suspension for targeted countries, though China was excluded from this relief. A blanket 10% tariff remains in place for all countries, while tariffs on all imports from China have been raised to 125%.
On Thursday morning, the USDA (U.S. Department of Agriculture) will release its Export Sales data. The trade expects old crop wheat sales to range from net reductions of 100,000 metric tons to net sales of 400,000 metric tons. For the new crop, sales are projected to range from 0 to 200,000 metric tons.
The estimate for U.S. wheat ending stocks will also be updated on Thursday. Analysts expect it to reach 825 million bushels, which would be 6 million bushels higher than last month’s figure if realized.
Global wheat ending stocks are also projected to rise by 0.31 million metric tons, bringing the total to 260.39 million metric tons, according to a Reuters survey of analysts.
