Export Sales data released this morning showed wheat bookings of just 156,255 metric tons in the week ending January 8. Unknown destinations were the largest buyers with 72,000 metric tons, while 61,500 metric tons were sold to the Philippines. Net sales for 2026/27 showed a reduction of 26 metric tons.
Saudi Arabia has issued a tender to purchase 595,000 metric tons of wheat, with a Friday deadline. Meanwhile, a South Korean importer purchased 50,000 metric tons of US wheat in an overnight tender.
Expana increased its European Union wheat production forecast by 0.3 MMT to 128.6 MMT, while trimming its wheat export projection by 1.2 MMT to 28.8 MMT.
