Kabuli chana price stable in Canada amid sluggish trade

Winnipeg. Kabuli chana market has remained relatively calm and stable due to sluggish trade in Canada. Its spot bid is running around 38 cents per pound but at this time negligible activity of buyers and sellers is being seen at this price level.
Though the yield rate of Kabuli chana is being reported to be at average level in entire Canada but its quality is said to be somewhat weak and this has happened due to heat.
In most of the areas harvesting has been completed but in some areas the crop is still standing in the fields. Its condition is said to be uncertain.
According to trade analysts, if the yield rate and quality of the crop during the upcoming harvesting preparations are not as per the expectations of the market then the pace of its trade may increase and especially the market price of Kabuli chana of export quality may rise a bit.
It is worth noting that Canada's participation in the global export market of Kabuli Chana is relatively limited and the average annual shipment from there is 2 lakh tonnes, so it is difficult for the reduced production there to have much effect on its prices.
The important thing is that the situation of supply and availability of Kabuli Chana in India is seen to be complex.
The condition of the crop in America is good and its supply in the global market may increase from there.
The demand in the international market is weak and unless there is a strong increase in it, there will be doubt about the increase in the price of Kabuli Chana in Canada.
