Kandla Port Assures Resolution of Edible Oil Import Bottlenecks
★ According to the IVPA, Gujarat’s Kandla Port has assured that it will address vessel congestion issues and ensure uninterrupted edible oil supplies.
★ As part of infrastructure upgrades, the port plans to install new 14-inch pipelines and handle edible oils at two additional docks equipped with specialized pipelines.
★ Port authorities have decided not to send vessels for re-berthing at outer anchorage—which would increase costs for importers. Instead, the existing policy of imposing penalties for delayed discharges will continue.
