★ On stage, Mr. Nitin Gadkari said that the sugar industry is the backbone of India’s economy.
★ The 20% ethanol blending program was achieved ahead of schedule.
★ After conducting trials of using ethanol in diesel, it was found that ethanol is not suitable for diesel.
★ However, trials are ongoing with ISORETINOL mixed with diesel.
★ Due to ethanol, the area under maize cultivation has increased. Earlier maize was sold at ₹1,200 per quintal, but now it fetches ₹2,700–2,800 per quintal, thereby increasing farmers’ income.
