Malaysia raises October palm oil reference price, keeps export duty at 10%
★ Malaysia, the world’s second-largest palm oil exporter, has set the crude palm oil (CPO) reference price for October at RM 4,268.68 per metric ton.
★ The September reference price was RM 4,053.43 per ton, which was already subject to a 10% duty.
★ According to Malaysia’s export tax structure, a 3% tax is levied when CPO prices are in the RM 2,250–RM 2,400 per ton range. When prices exceed RM 4,050 per ton, the maximum tax rate of 10% applies.
