News Capsule: Rain Brings Relief to Saffron-Growing Regions
★ Rainfall over the past 24 hours in the Pampore region of Kashmir is expected to benefit the saffron crop. Farmers in this area had been eagerly awaiting rain since October–November.
★ Kashmir’s saffron production stands at around 2.6–3.4 tonnes, with the remaining requirement met through imports from overseas.
