News Capsule: Sugarcane Crushing Gains Momentum in Maharashtra
★ As of December 21, 191 sugar mills in the state have crushed 44.6 million tonnes of sugarcane.
★ This has resulted in 3.8 million tonnes of sugar production. During the same period last year, 26.87 million tonnes of cane were crushed, producing 2.228 million tonnes of sugar.
★ Sugar recovery has improved to 8.5%, up from 8.2% last year.
