No Food Grain Shortage, Agriculture Minister Says

New Delhi. The Union Agriculture Minister has said that there will be no shortage of food grains, crops and vegetables in the country and the government will make every effort to make India the 'food basket' of the world.
The Agriculture Minister said that due to the tireless hard work of Indian farmers and agricultural scientists and the favorable and useful policy of the government, the agricultural sector in the country is growing at the rate of 3.7 percent, which is the highest in the world.
Addressing the two-day National Agriculture Conference - Rabi Abhiyan 2025' organized in New Delhi on September 15, the Agriculture Minister said that strict action will be taken against those selling fake or adulterated substandard seeds,
fertilizers and pesticides and only such biologically compatible goods will be allowed to be sold which can fully meet all the standards of quality.
The theme of the National Agriculture Conference organized by the Union Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare is - 'One Nation, One Agriculture - One Team.' This can prove to be an important integrated effort to increase integrated progress and participation in the agriculture sector.
The two-day event of Rabi Abhiyan 2025 has been organized on 15-16 September at a time when the sowing of Kharif crops is almost over and the sowing of Rabi crops is about to begin.
The Agriculture Minister said that the farmer-friendly policy of the government is providing a lot of relief to the farming community and it is getting encouragement to increase the production of crops.
The Center and the State are united in the matter of farming. According to the Agriculture Minister, now it is not easy to predict the weather, so more and more farmers need to be brought under the ambit of the crop insurance scheme.
In his inaugural address, the Agriculture Secretary informed that six parallel sessions are being organized in this two-day event in which serious discussions will be held on all points and aspects.
