Trading in the domestic market opened with a decline in Tur prices today, driven by increased selling aimed at profit-booking following recent price surges. The market faced pressure as stockists offloaded stocks at higher levels. Meanwhile, buying activity from pulse mills slowed down after the earlier price rally, weakening market support.
Despite a slowdown in selling by stockists, Tur prices in key producing markets declined due to limited buying by pulse mills and profit-booking at high price points. Prices dropped by ₹300 per quintal in the Solapur market, while a decline of ₹300 to ₹375 per quintal was recorded in the Amravati market.
Following the price drop, Tur rates in the Solapur market fell to a range of ₹9,500–₹11,100 per quintal. Similarly, prices in the Amravati market declined to ₹10,000–₹10,725 per quintal.
According to market experts, the future trend of Tur prices will primarily depend on buying by pulse mills, selling by stockists, and market availability. If profit-booking at high levels continues and demand from pulse mills remains weak, prices could remain under pressure. However, the market could regain support if supplies remain limited and demand improves.
